A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched the eighth Dragon spacecraft on the sixth operational cargo delivery mission to the International Space Station. The flight was conducted under the Commercial Resupply Services contract with NASA.
Falcon 9 v1.1 is a significantly redesigned version of the its predecessor, including a higher payload capacity. This version arranges the engines in a structural form SpaceX calls an Octaweb.

As part of CRS-6 the robotic SpaceX Dragon capsule splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday, 21 May 2015. The CRS-13 mission was the first NASA to fly on a flight-proven Falcon 9. Now on display in Los Angeles, California at the California Science Center.
